Here is a weird set,,Heppner woof and Foster horn
Magnavox 580088 horns, 581216 woofers & crossovers MINT - eBay (item 160496280201 end time Nov-19-10 18:48:24 PST)
I'm speaking of "Magnavox" speakers in general......... I don't think I've pulled a single horn from a Magnavox console. The ones I've found have been all cone drivers. I haven't paid attention to the horns on ebay much. Most of what I was speaking of are the woofers.
Fisher used a lot of Jensen drivers........ I've got a few Jensen horns RP-203's, I think.

Your neighbors called. They like your music.
Bingo!! My set up almost exactly. Those are my horns, the same crossover and the same foam box. Woofers are different.
ABG. I have a Fisher console and remote speaker doing TV service in the living room. Each cab has 3 Jensen 8" drivers in parallel. No crossover at all.
Yes, quite. No sign there was ever any crossover. It could have been removed, along with the tube electronics, but I see no sign of it. No sign there was ever any tweeter, either.
Of the 3 drivers, 2 are the same, 1 has more ridges, IIRC - maybe the "bass" unit. Not bad sounding speakers, really.
Wasn't there a thread about these Styrofoam console speakers last year.I remember the Styrofoam boxes because I can't imagine anyone making an enclosure out of it.
But I guess it works.Placed inside the console should be protected enough I suppose.
Hey Cal did you score those speaks (Madera's) ??
No response to my offer on those but I will be looking at the 886A's in the morning. Perhaps I'll throw my hat a little farther into the ring tomorrow with the Maderas. Thanks for asking, will let you know.
Nothing like a great big pair of speakers to make your day.

The Styrofoam is quite rigid, and I beleive is a higher density than what you'd commonly find used as packing material. I figure if I ever try to remove the drivers, I'm going to have to rig up a heated wire type foam cutter or use a bow saw....... which will make a huge mess, and is reason enough to let them sit. Unlike the ones I've seen online, mine are glued together with what looks like construction adhesive.

Yeah mine were just taped together. Easy to open. The Styrofoam is now resting deep in the Maui county landfill.
